HIRE ME!!
First, some questions . . . . . !
What Can you do for me?
I will narrate, edit and master your audio book for retail. I can use ACX for complete production facilitation or I can deliver the files to you direct.
Can you provide just the RAW files?
Yes, if you are a publishing house or other then I can provide just the clean punch and roll audio direct to you with no mastering.
How much will it cost me?
I charge £180 / $220 per finished hour of completed audio. If you are choosing the Royalty Share Plus option on ACX my charge is £65 / $85 per finished hour plus 20% royalties as laid out in the ACX contract. You must be the author and/or Rights Holder of the book.
Do you do RS projects on ACX?
I do not accept direct offers for Royalty Share Only projects on ACX.
How long will it take?
I will always state a 14 day minimum for production delivery. Each finished hour of produced audio takes roughly 4-5 hours of work to make. So for example, a 4 hour book would take around 20 hours of work. There is also prep time to consider (reading the script, making notes, checking pronunciations) and proofing of the final audio. There may also be mistakes to re-record and correct. Audio book making is a very time consuming process and I never rush it.
Do you work with international Right's Holders/Authors?
If we are working through ACX I can work with those based in the UK, US, Canada and Ireland. Outside of ACX I can work with any one.
How do I pay?
Payment is 50% upfront after the 15 minute checkpoint stage. (If choosing the RS Plus deal through ACX the payment is 25% upfront). The remainder paid on completion and approval by you, the Right's Holder. Payment is via bank transfer. I use Wise Business and will provide you with easy instructions on payment. Please note I DO NOT use Paypal.
Can we chat face2face?
Yes absolutely. I am available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for face to face meetings over Zoom. Please contact me to arrange a date and time.
What accents do you do?
Almost any! (Within reason).
I am from the South West of the UK and my natural accent has a light Cornish lilt. However! I don't get asked to use the accent in much of my work so I use a general British accent as demonstrated in the majority of my audio books. I have used various accents in my work. General American, Southern American, German, French, Russian, Australian etc! And if it's an accent I'm not adept at, I go learn in with a coach!
What genre of books do you take on?
I do cozy mysteries, romance, young adult, children's and dramas primarily. I also have horror and a dark crime thriller on my resume. I tend not to take on sci-fi, non-fiction or erotica/very explicit material.
What recording equipment do you use?
For those who are interested in the technical side or if you are just interested:
-
RODE NT1 5th Gen Mic for a rich smooth sound
-
Focusrite Scarlett Solo Pre-amp
-
Sony MDR 7506 headphones for studio monitoring
-
Reaper DAW for editing and Audacity for checks
